Because the lid includes a handle that seems to be attached at the bottom-I’ve spent less than a minute seeing if it is removable, but my vote is no.  The lid has a design of grapes on it and the top edge of the glass is covered by a metal rim as shown.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe pitcher measures 3.00 inches across the base and is 1.75 inches across the rim.  It is 5 5\/8 inches tall to the top of the finial.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe inside is clean with no sign of damage.  The design is classic and clean with no damge to the metal either.  The lid stays up as shown.
