Gerold Porzellan Puzzle Mug # 27698
This is a white Gerold Porzellan mug with a scene of an unknown bird on the side opposite the handle, some unusual pierced spots and a naked lady in the bottom of the cup. They call it a puzzle mug, but I’d be more inclined to call it a surprise mug. I am not sure what purpose the holes have as they would make drinking out of messy-but maybe that’s another surprise. The mug is white with a ridged design, raised leaves outlined in gold and a rather sturdy tree trunk shaped handle.
The mug measures 4 3/8 inches across the bottom and it is 3 7/8 inches across the rim. The mug is 7.00 inches tall to the rim. It holds a bit less than twenty-eight fluid ounces.
The mug has no chips, cracks, crazing, or discoloration, although there is some light green on the bottom inside rim. It’s barely visible to the naked eye, but the camera picked it up pretty well. And there is a raised design in the porcelain in the bottom of the mug of a naked woman. The mug is marked as shown.
