Green and White Porcelain Biscuit Jar-Cracked # 27700

This is a green and white porcelain biscuit jar with a matching lid. First off, it has a crack on one side. The crack is clearly visible, but has not broken all the way through. It is shown several times from inside and outside the jar. I would guess the jar does not hold liquid. The jar has a partial backstamp, but I do not know who it belongs to. There is not enough there to read and the lid is not stamped.

The biscuit jar measures 6.00 inches wide and has a 3.50 inch wide opening. It is 4 7/8 inches tall to the rim and 6.50 inches tall to the top of the handle.

The jar has nice shaping, green trim and raised gold trim on the green. The gold trim on the handle is mostly missing. It has a multi flower, multicolor design and a matching lid that actually lines up with the flowers.

It’s older, likely antique and a bit beat up. The white is not shiny, there is a tiny chip in the rim across from the crack and then there is that ugly crack. But I still feel there is value to this item for the right buyer.

So, to recap, it has a tiny chip, an ugly crack and it’s worn. But the inside is clean and stain free.
