Wedgwood Light Blue Jasperware Sugar Bowl with Lion and Unicorn Crest # 27735

This is a a light blue Wedgwood Jasperware covered sugar bowl or other bowl with the lid. It has a Lion and Unicorn crest on one side and ER on the other . I have not been able to find a pattern name or age. I do not think this is a sugar bowl as it is slightly larger than a standard Wedgwood sugar bowl, but then, I am not exactly sure what it would be for. It is jasperware with a glazed inside and the lid may actually be from something else as the lid is more worn and not as clean as the bowl-even though it fits well-although it does not seat on the bowl which also makes me think this is the wrong lid.

The bowl measures 3.75 inches across and is 4.25 inches from handle to handle. It is 2.50 inches tall to the rim and 4.00 inches tall to the top of this lid.

The dish has no chips, cracks, or other damage. The inside of the bowl is clean with no sign of use. The white design on the bowl is very clean while the design on the lid appears older and is not as white.

The base of the bowl is marked Wedgwood, Pale Blue Jasperware (I’ve never seen that before) and England as shown.
