William Adams Dark Blue Large Jasperware Bowl # 27719

This is a large dark blue jasperware bowl by William Adams. It has an impressed backstamp of W Adams and some numbers. It has a hunting scene on it with a metal rim that is tranished. I do not know what the rim is made of as it is not marked. The bowl is white inside and glazed with some dark specks.

The bowl measures 8 7/8 inches wide across the rim and it is 4 1/8 inches tall and slightly less than 4.00 inches deep.

The dark blue color is nice and dark which offsets the bright white design. I tried to clean up the silver metal rim with some Wrights silver polish which did not do a great job-the outer rim is cleaner and brighter but it did not help much with the tarnish on the inside rim.

I have researched the embossed backstamp which dates this item from the late 1800s. Sorry the backstamps are so hard to read, but one says Adams with some numbers and the other says Turnstall England.

The bowl has no chips, cracks, crazing, missing design or any damage other than the tarnish on the rim. It is marked as shown.
