Alfred Lanternier Limoges Antique Chocolate Pot # 27665

This is an Alfred Lanternier Limoges chocolate pot with a backstamp dated 1891 to 1914. The chocolate pot is white with a ribbed design that swirls to the right. It has beaded trim in the porcelain at the top and spout plus nice shaping in the porcelain on the handle and spout. The included lid is a match both in fit and design.

The design of this pot is rather interesting. At the base on the right hand side is broken fence and the flower that is at the top of the pot is growing out of the ground next to that fence. The design on the back is different and smaller and both sides are shown.

The chocolate pot is an oval shape and measures 4.25 by 3 7/8 inches across the bottom. It is 3.75 by 3 1/8 inches across the top rim. The pot is 7.25 inches tall to the rim and 8.50 inches to the top of the flower shaped handle. The pot holds thirty-two fluid ounces.

There is worn gold on the handle and spout and on the rims. It is over one hundred years old. I tried to show the gold wear along with the design. The pot has no chips, cracks, crazing, or other damage other than age and use related wear.
