Jean Pouyat Limoges Chocolate Pot # 27273

This is a cream color matte finish Jean Pouyat Limoges chocolate pot with a matching lid. It has a light and dark green design at the top and bottom rim plus a green painted handle with gold trim. It has a mslal pink or purple flowers and green ferns on it that appear to be hand painted. The Jean Pouyat mark is dated 1890 to 1932. The base is also marked Patented with a date, but the mark is worn or badly stamped and the date is not readable-at least not to me. The pot comes with the matching lid and it is in exceptional condition.

The pot measures 4.75 inches wide. It is 7 7/8 inches tall at the rim and 9.50 inches at the top of the handle.

I have included a couple close ups of the flowers as I am certain they are hand painted and someone has added some small raised details. The porcelain has lovely shaping from the indented lines by the spout and the scalloped top rim and shaped base. Al l fo the gold trim is intact which is atounding at this age. Someone has taken very good care of this pot and it shows.

There are no chips, cracks, crazing, or other damage. The inside is clean with no sign of use. The lid is shown from both the top and bottom and it has no damge. Both the front and back are also shown.

There is a mark impressed in the pocelain by the maker mark, but I cannot make out what it is or says. It may be an A or a D. The matte finish is clean and beautiful and really offsets the great colors.
