Jean Pouyat Limoges Hand Painted and Signed Chocolate Pot # 27594

This is a hand painted Jean Pouyat Limoges Chocolate pot that is signed. It does not have a lid. The main pot is white and pale pink with great shaping on the top in the porcelain. It has pink, white, and yellow flowers painted on it and it is signed near the handle as shown. It has a beautiful gold painted handle with great flourishes and probably once had a lovely lid that is now gone forever. Finding a replacement lid might be about impossible. The pot has a heart shaped spout trimmed in gold and it is marked Hand Painted on the base.

The chocolate pot measures 4.75 inches wide across the base. It is 3 1/8 inches wide across the rim and 8.75 inches tall to the rim.

The Jean Pouyat Limoges mark is dated 1890 to 1902. I do not know who signed it, but have provided a close up of the signature.

The pot has no chips, cracks, crazing, or gold loss. It is quite lovely and destined to become a family heirloom.
