John Maddock and Sons Covered Sugar Bowl in Yale # 27728

This is a John Maddock and Sons sugar bowl in the Yale pattern. The sugar bowl has a backstamp dated after 1896. The pattern is not dated, and I found very few pieces in this pattern. The pattern name is stamped on the base.

The sugar bowl measures 4.50 inches across by 3.50 inches deep. It is about 6.00 inches from handle to handle. The sugar bowl is 3 7/8 inches tall to the rim and about 5.00 inches tall to the top of the handle.

The piece is white with a blue green design. It has some gold trim on it, but other spots may just be very worn. The design is nice in a great color with some light shaping in the porcelain. The lid is an exact match.

The inside is clean and stain free with no sign of use. It is marked as shown.
