Noritake Footed Eight Sided Covered Dish # 27119

This is a cream color, eight sided, footed dish by Noritake. It is cream color with gold trim and a raised ridged design. I do not know the pattern name, and I do not know what purpose this was intended to serve. It could be a sugar bowl, a serving dish for relish, a vanity dish for cotton balls or a ring dish for safe keeping. There is nothing to indicate its purpose and I have not had any luck finding the pattern name or age. I cannot find any pattern with this ridged detail. The lid has remnants of a gold tag on it, but all the tag said was Noritake.

The dish measures 5.25 inches across. It is 3 7/8 inches tall to the rim and 5 5/8 inches tall to the top of the handle. It is 2.75 inches deep. There is no spoon cut out on the lid which leads me to believe it is not a sugar bowl, honey pot, or jelly jar.

The dish looks brand new. There are no chips, cracks, or other damage, no crazing and no gold loss or signs of wear or use.
