Royal Munich Zeh Scherzer Wood Look Porcelain Biscuit Jar # 27716
This is a wood look porcelain biscuit jar with lid by Zeh Scherzer with a Royal Munich backstamp. This backstamp dates the biscuit jar from 1900 to 1930. The biscuit jar is painted brown with purple flowers. There are some knots painted on the back of the jar. The handles were painted gold, but most of that gold is gone. The jar has both the Royal Munich and the Z S & C mark as shown. I do not have a pattern name for this piece.
The biscuit jar measures 6.50 inches across the base. It is 5.00 inches across the rim. The jar is 3.50 inches tall to the rim and 5.00 inches tall to the top of the handle.
As I stated, the handles are badly worn as is the top rim. The design is interesting and shown in detail. The lid is an exact match.
The inside is white and completely clean with no staining or damage.
There are no chips, cracks, or other damage. Both marks are shown.
